Engaging with the broader communities in which we practice law is important to Kumble & Co. Our diverse team of lawyers and other employees at all levels of the Firm make ongoing significant contributions to legal service programs, government bodies, and nonprofits.

Many of our lawyers volunteer their time and talents to community organizations of all types – from bar associations to educational and religious organizations. They also serve on boards of nonprofits and act as advisors to public interest organizations. Employees also regularly engage in community service projects, which aims to deliver enrichment and college and work-readiness programs  to public high school students from under-served communities.  These programs range from mock trials to resume-writing/ interviewing workshops, to summer internships. Kumble & Co participates in 15 employment programs to provide minority and disadvantaged youth with summer and academic-year jobs.

These efforts complement the many thousands of hours we devote to pro bono legal matters that range from representing victims of domestic violence, struggling micro-entrepreneurs and indigent criminal defendants, to writing amicus briefs on civil rights issues to the Supreme and Circuit Courts. We are proud to have lawyers who support civic and charitable matters that reflect our culture and commitment to the community.

We strive to involve our people in community engagement activities that make a positive impact on the communities where we work and live. For example, every year our lawyers act as mentors to high school students. We have mentored hundreds of students since the program began in 2006.
